Egnyte

The Egnyte connector allows you to seamlessly integrate your Egnyte file storage data into Datagrid. This enables you to analyze and report on your files, folders, users, and permissions data, facilitating data governance, collaboration analysis, security monitoring, and storage optimization.

1. How-to

1. Prerequisites

To configure the Egnyte connector, follow these steps:

  • An active Egnyte account with the necessary permissions to access the files and data you want to import into Datagrid.
  • An Egnyte API key (Personal Access Token). You can generate this from your Egnyte account settings under "Apps."
  • Select the data you want to import into Datagrid.

2. Connect

Creating a dataset from the Egnyte connector involves selecting the specific data you want to import via Egnyte:

  1. Connect Egnyte App:
    1. Click on the "+ Create" Button on the top left of the screen.
    2. Select the "Connect Apps" item.
    3. Search for the Egnyte connector from the list.
    4. Copy and paste Egnyte's domain (the first word in your Egnyte URL) into the first field and leave the other fields blank.
      1. Example: https://[domain].egnyte.com/app/index.do#appstore/addons-integrations/ e. Click on the "Next" button.
  2. Pick your Data:
    1. Pick the Egnyte data you want to include in your dataset (e.g., files, folders).
    2. Click the "Start First Import" Button to start syncing your Egnyte dataset.

3. Set Up a Schedule

Scheduling regular data pulls ensures your Datagrid datasets remain up-to-date with the latest information from Egnyte:

  1. Navigate to Egnyte Dataset:
    1. Go to the left side panel and locate and click on the Egnyte dataset you created.
  2. Schedule Settings:
    1. Click on the "..." on the top right of the dataset.
    2. Click on "Edit Pipeline" to edit your connector's name.
    3. Click the "Schedule" button on the right, beside the "Import Configuration" button.
  3. Configure Schedule:
    1. Set the desired frequency for data pulls (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
    2. Specify the time of day for the data pull to occur.
    3. Specify downtime if needed – when the sync should not happen.
    4. Click the "Update" button to update the new configuration.
